Blackbird video editing software adopted by US digital network Cheddar News
Blackbird PLC (LON:BIRD) announced US news network Cheddar News has chosen the company’s video editing platform for its video production.
The AIM-listed developer and seller of the cloud native video editing platform said Cheddar News, which boasts over 55mln monthly video views, will deploy Blackbird for video editing in the cloud and publishing of content for its media operations.
With its production team working remotely, the digital-first news network will use Blackbird remotely and at its offices to access and edit live broadcast feeds and file-based content for fast distribution to broadcast, OTT, web and social channels.
Reporters will also be able use Blackbird to curate and publish news stories from the field, which includes weekday broadcasts from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ Marketsite, and the Flatiron Building.
Blackbird chief executive Ian McDonough said: “Like Blackbird, Cheddar News is a ground-breaking and industry defining brand. Blackbird will allow Cheddar’s distributed news production teams to work flexibly on a single unified editing and publishing platform either remotely, from the field or from centralised production locations. It’s important to us that Blackbird is trusted by the world’s most innovative and successful companies and Cheddar fits that description perfectly. They are an excellent addition to our growing roster of prestigious news customers.”
