Business travel seen more important than ever once Covid restrictions are lifted, survey says
Business travel is expected to be more important than ever once Coronavirus restrictions are lifted, according to a survey by global business aviation company VistaJet International Ltd.
In the survey of more than 200 high-level company executives worldwide, 81% said business travel will be more important than ever and of those respondents who take eight or more private flights a year, 60% plan to significantly increase in-person meetings.
During the pandemic, travel has been limited for 90% of companies surveyed, and 97% said their businesses experienced negative impact directly related to those restrictions, according to The Future of Business Travel report.
Around a quarter of respondents indicated massive or substantial disruptions across all eight areas measured, and 87% cited massive or substantial disruption in at least one area. About 37% said international business development and product launches were affected by the lack of in-person presence.
VistaJet has seen a 49% increase in corporate interest around the world since the start of the pandemic.
Earlier this month, UK-based Air Charter Service (ACS) said global private jet business bookings for the first quarter of 2021 had reached 76% of pre-COVID 2019 levels, exceeding its original forecast, and that the recovery of business travel could eventually rise to 85% of pre-pandemic levels this year.
Part of the recent rise in demand for private jets, whether for business or leisure, is the attractiveness of reducing waiting time at airports and minimising contact with other passengers.
